The weekend involved a lot of sleep for me - which may have been good or may have been - hell, how can sleep be bad? I sure could use some more, though. I did get a blue streak put into my hair. The coral stripe had faded to "wtf did you do to your head?". The blue is a dark indigo so it doesn't show up very well. This miffs me. I'm sure it'll fade nicely, though. My hairdresser spent an extra 45 minutes just playing with my curls, lol.

Saturday evening, we went to a greyhound adoption event near home. We met two dogs that I really liked, Toes, a little girl, and Blaze a BIG boy. They are both from the same farm Spirit came from and are a bonded pair. It was a tad much, having the three on leashes but it was fun. The lot were awefully cute. They were all stairstepped in size but identical in nose and coloring, with Spirit being in the middle. I didn't think to get any photos, darn it. Dane wasn't so thrilled with the idea of getting another dog so soon and excused himself to wander with Spirit outside while I chatted and cuddled hounds. I think the idea of three dogs is a bit overwhelming, too. I'm not sure we have mental and couch space enough for three large dogs - though I'm also sure that I could make it without a problem.

I started Gena Showalter's YA INTERTWINED, which is going to be great, I think. Thus far, we have a teen boy with 4 extra souls living in his head, one of whom has the "power" to accidentally raise the dead. Literally. Like screw-up-a-graveyard-in-the-afternoon raise the dead. I'm looking forward to diving in. My 12 year old liked it.

On the other hand, Lauren Kate's YA FALLEN was... eh. It was a lackluster TWILIGHT with fallen angels, and that ain't saying much. It is, however, good for 12 year old girls. It was lower on the "it was fine" scale than Twilight. I might try the better-reviewed HUSH HUSH instead.

Roxanne St Clair's BULLET CATCHER series is wonderful if you're a romantic-suspense fan. I gobbled up the first few of them and enjoyed each. She even got me on a whodunnit which peeved me enough to ARGH at her on twitter. She giggled. This alone amused me.

I just finished the book - it was good. Showalter is always snappy, clever and original. It certainly wasn't what I thought it was going to be, though.

The streak is pretty, but it's frizzed out today so a pic is just impossible.

Three big dogs IS a lot. We have to do some major family thinking before doing it. Stelle left such a huge hole, though.

Tough choice -- one dog or three, since it would be sad to split up a bonded pair. They sound cute together, stairstepped in size but identical in coloring.

Now don't you get me addicted to one more author series!

Intertwined was darned interesting, though not at all what i expected. I am looking forward to a sequel, though. I did read some pages of HUSH HUSH and plan to pick it up soonish.

There are other dogs available and more are added daily. We don't have to take the two. It's still very soon, though. We don't need to make any choices soon, thank goodness.
