Novato Veterinarian
Jun. 22nd, 2007 07:33 pmIf you are looking for a vet in Novato, California, in Marin County, do NOT EVER go to South Novato Animal Hospital at 1770 Novato Boulevard, Novato, CA 94947. Whereas Dr. Mark Miller is a wonderful Veterinarian, he is rarely, if ever there. His replacement, Michael S. Dahlman, D.V.M is an absolute moron. He should not be practicing veterinary medicine anywhere. He has caused more pain for the animals in my family than any other vet in my 34 years.
He refused aid for my cat, Mouse, 2 years ago, strenuously objecting to selling me the one thing that could help keep him alive, potassium, to add to ringers that I bought from a source that wasn’t his hospital because buying it from him would have beggared me.
Today, however, he was utterly and completely inhumane. It took him an hour to euthanize my dog. He, a licensed and certified veterinarian, couldn’t manage to find a vein in ANY of my dog’s legs. He was utterly incapable of getting the needle into her heart, as an alternative. Then he had the GALL to try to charge my mother $178 for the pleasure of torturing the dog (that didn’t even include the cremation charge!). The charge, when confronted, was reversed, but not before he arrogantly refused to apologize for the time, torture and stress on the dog and the emotional pain he put my family through. He refused to admit that he was incapable of humanly putting my dog to sleep and refused to admit his inexperience with the heart stick and apologize for it.
I would avoid this Novato veterinarian at all costs. There are plenty of veterinarians in Novato to go to. Avoid Michael S. Dahlman, though. He is simply a bad vet.
