a Sunday ramble
Apr. 26th, 2009 10:29 pmSo i've been a tad braindead lately. Well, perhaps not braindead, just faintly disinterested in just about everything. I've been watching a great deal of tv - admittedly with my laptop in hand. USA seems to be the channel of choice. NCIS, wrestling (yeah, really) In Plain Sight, Burn Notice, a bit of CSI, and Law and Order have been on the menu though Dane REALLY likes to surf during commercials. Twitter is amusing - Brent Spiner and Wil Wheaton crack me up and
luvsev is great with inspiring me to contemplate the idea of writing.
I very much need to get my butt in gear writing.
I did, however, mostly clean my bookshelves. I got rid of all of my old uni class notes and a few textbooks. All notes went into recycling. I've no ideas what to do with the texts. I haven't been in uni since the 90's and the texts are out of date by a dozen versions and a dozen technology upgrades. Coming to the unshocking self realization that I'm never going to teach theater was... comforting. I LIKED getting rid of my notes. I'm simply no longer interested in pouring the difference between Ibsen and a fresnel into young minds. I'd rather own a bookstore. Really.
We took a wander out to St. Paul, Oregon today. It was about 45 minutes away to the French Prairie Gardens. Hills, mountains, river, and farms made it a gorgeous drive. We went to a small nursery out there to purchase some hanging baskets and flowering plants. Came home with 3 baskets (one for SIL), 5 plants, and a homemade pie for Dane and the blonde. I dislike pie. Really.
Do the twitter posts bug people? I managed to put them behind a cut but if they bug, I'll shut them off. My intention with them is to have friends hold me accountable for flaking out on other crud rather than writing.
Dogs are fine. Cats are fine. Blonde is fine - her room is a disaster. Dane is fine.
