Happen more in committed relationships because of intimacy between D/s. Casual play doesn't have the intimacy nor are so many limits pushed on a regular basis.
Drop is only felt after a sub or topspace high. As the system stops producing the morphine-like hormones, the parasympathetic nervous system kicks in and causes the drop.
Happens to athletes, adventurers, military, emergency responders, and anyone in a high stress situations or emergency.
Drop can also happen if play is stopped too abruptly or if the bottom is abandoned mid-scene.
