Im not sure I see why they exist. And must they end regardless, after a certain point.

I never have. (I also tend to be so egomaniacal that I come up with my own rules and customs and so on). To me, the collar was absolute, and even my ex slave, obviously isnt mine no longer, but is still my best friend, and I will kill to protect her.

It can last for as long as it's contracted for, and then, at the end, the Dominant and submissive either agree to end it or turn it into a permanent collar

Until Serrian, I would only wear play collars. I wouldn't even consider anything else.

I can see play collars. They have a purpose and a clear end, so even if you like the person, the play collar "expires" so theres no awkwardness.

So, a trial collar can also be a collar of consideration or a probationary collar

Usually, it's oinly going to last a few months while the couple dates and figures out if they even like each other

So kind of like a "regular" collar that was online, and the actual real life collar she wore once it became permanent (these were my terms, just so I understand how others do it)

For me its rather absolute, with a ceremony and all. The online collar was roleplayed out, the real one was done in person, and since she was Gor trained, she did the ceremoy which for the life of me I cannot recall right now

Thank you, yes, it does make some sense, but is still fascinating nonetheless. I do find it interesting how we all do things, different yet the same in the end.

That was what I think was also called simply being under consideration. Im just a bit surprised that I havent heard of the trial collar (not that I have been very active recently as some of you know)

like mine, it may have a permanent lock that can only be opened with a hex key, or it could come easily, with no lock or just come off with a click
