So, as far as birthdays go, mine rather sucked. I've had better, though I'll also admit to having worse. I've been sick for about a week and was still sick yesterday. Being sick just takes all the wind out of one's sails - not to mention making one unable to blow up any candles on the cake my husband didn't think of making/buying. My lovely MIL and BIL sent me flowers at work, though, and my boss got me a nice card and balloon because sick people need balloons. Of course, the balloon wasn't tied properly to the string and as my (also sick) daughter pulled it out of the car, the balloon floated away - causing said child to scream and cry and beg for forgiveness - for 30 minutes. *sighs* no, you didn't do anything wrong, it's okay, you didn't know, it wouldn't have happened even if I took it out of the car. She did, however, give me a lovely rock that she found and colored to use as a paperweight on my desk at work. It's a cool rock. I'm digging it. Husband also forgot to order my spa package - it's the "husband and child leaving you alone all day while you get pampered by strangers" one. *shrugs* oh well. He did buy Chinese food so I didn't have to go cough and blow my nose in a public place, which I'm grateful for. In the evening, I slept, watched House and went to bed. Totally unexciting.

I am, however, staying home from work today with ill-child.
